Principal Message

Hello! My name is Rachel Chamberlin, and I am so excited to start my new position as principal at Pleasant View Elementary! I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a reading endorsement from Buena Vista University, a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Leadership from Buena Vista University, and a Specialist degree in administration from Northwest Missouri State University. This will be my 18th year in education and 17th year at Pleasant View. For the past 16 years at Pleasant View, I was a 1st grade teacher for 8 years and then the instructional coach for 8 years.

My husband Ryan and I have 2 sons, Grayson and Owen. We spend a lot of time outdoors - fishing, golfing, riding side by sides, cheering on the Hawkeyes, and attending all the boys' sporting events (they keep us busy)!

I believe in the importance of collaboration among parents, staff, and students to create a strong and united school community. Together with the dedicated staff at Pleasant View, I am committed to ensuring that every student receives an excellent education in a nurturing, positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment. I am looking forward to an amazing year ahead!
