THREAT OF VIOLENCE INVESTIGATION

 On Friday October 4, 2024 the Webster City Police Department and Webster City School District were made aware of a threat of violence spreading on social media.  The threat indicated there would be an act of violence at the high school today. 

Officers and school staff immediately began investigating the threat.  At this time, it appears the threat was not directed at the Webster City High School and was being spread across social media in an attempt to create panic.  The investigation has revealed no credible threat of violence for the Webster City School District.

The Webster City Police Department and Webster City Community School District take these threats serious and work hand in hand to ensure every threat is investigated and every student and staff member is safe and secure.  Webster City Police Officers and Investigators will remain at the schools throughout the day out of an overabundance of caution to ensure the safety of our students and school staff and to put students and staff at ease.

The Webster City Police Department is being assisted by the Webster City School District in this investigation.
